Origin
Volcán, Chiriqui, Panama
Located in Volcán, within Panama’s celebrated Chiriquí coffee region, Iris Estate sits on the slopes surrounding Volcán Barú. Established in 2017, it is regarded as the highest coffee farm in Panama and Latin America, reaching elevations of up to 2,300 metres above sea level. The estate shares the same broader region as Finca Deborah, but sits at an even more extreme altitude, where cooler temperatures, cloud cover, volcanic soils, and pronounced microclimates shape a distinctive cup profile. These conditions slow the maturation of the coffee cherries, encouraging greater density, structure, and flavour intensity. Rich volcanic soil, shaded growing conditions, and extended ripening make Iris Estate especially suited to Geisha and other rare varieties, producing coffees with heightened complexity, clarity, and aromatic depth. As one of the most elevated and carefully managed farms in Panama, Iris offers a vivid expression of terroir from one of the world’s most prestigious coffee origins.
