Solar power
In 2019, ONA Coffee's roastery and head office undertook an energy overhaul with one goal to mind: to run our operations on renewable energy.
In November 2019 our premises in Canberra became certified as powered by solar power, which means that every single coffee roasted by ONA Coffee has been created with renewable energy from the Sun. In addition to this, in early 2020 the ACT became the first state or territory outside of the EU to create all its energy from renewable energy.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, in February 2020 we launched our #giveupthecup campaign to remove single use cups from our wholesale distribution and venues.
This on going campaign will seek to provide reusable alternatives to single use cups, in order to prevent more than 2.7 million cups from entering landfill every year.
Although we have been using recyclable cups during the past few years, not every state and territory in Australia has the capacity to recycle these cups. This campaign seeks to not only eliminate single use cups from our business, but to start a revolution in Australia and the world to end wasteful, takeaway culture.

Recycled boxes
In 2020, we began employing the use of boxes for our Australia-wide distribution that are made entirely of recycled material! This is just another step in our commitment to making our business more environmentally friendly and sustainable.
