Unlike a blend subscription, where consistency is part of the appeal, our Single Origin Subscription is built around change and variety.
Each month, our roasting team selects one coffee from our current single origin range to feature across the subscription. That might mean a Washed Ethiopian coffee one month, followed by a naturally processed Central American coffee the next, depending on what is tasting best and what has recently arrived.
For ONA Coffee Head Roaster Danny Wilson, that ability to move with the season was central to creating the program.
“Single origin coffee is naturally seasonal, and we wanted the subscription to reflect that”, Danny says.
“Rather than trying to offer the same coffee throughout the year, we can choose something each month that we’re genuinely excited about and that represents what is tasting great at that moment.”
Subscribers don’t need to choose between several coffees each month. Instead, the ONA Coffee team makes the selection, creating an opportunity to try coffees, origins and flavour profiles you might not otherwise have picked for yourself.
Your choice of filter or espresso
The subscription is available in two roast styles, allowing you to choose the format that best suits the way you brew at home.
Every subscriber within the same roast style receives the featured coffee for that month. This approach allows our roasting team to focus on presenting each coffee as clearly and consistently as possible.
“Sometimes the temptation with a coffee subscription is to put as much variety into the box as possible”, Danny says.
“We wanted to do something slightly different and give people enough coffee to actually spend some time with it – to dial it in, brew it a few different ways and properly understand what makes that coffee interesting.”
For espresso drinkers in particular, having multiple bags of the same coffee also means there is more opportunity to adjust recipes and find the extraction that best suits the coffee, rather than reaching the end of a bag just as everything starts falling into place.

“Our single origin menu is always moving. Coffees arrive, develop over time and eventually sell through, so there’s constantly something new to work with”, Danny says.
“The subscription gives us an opportunity to highlight coffees we think deserve attention and put them directly in front of people every month.”
It also offers an accessible introduction to the breadth of specialty coffee. Over time, subscribers can experience different growing regions, processing styles and flavour profiles without needing extensive knowledge to decide what to buy.
You may discover that you prefer the clarity of a Washed coffee, the fruit intensity of a Natural process, or the structure of a particular origin. Or you may simply enjoy having something different to brew each month.

Single Origin Subscription orders are packed and dispatched when your order is placed, making it easy to start your subscription whenever it suits you.
From there, your subscription continues on its regular schedule, with a new single origin selected by our roasting team as the offering changes. There is no need to wait for a fixed monthly dispatch date or place a new order each time.
