‘The Guji region of Ethiopia is filled with many wild coffee trees and small plantations surrounding villages and towns. Local farmers and growers cultivate small lots before combining them at various washing stations. Members of the Uraga Smallerholds Farmers combine their lots at the Uraga wet mill, where this lot was processed as a ‘supernatural’ to highlight the intense fruit qualities famous in the coffee of this region.
Dark fruit notes such as plum and grape are accompanied by a chocolate sweetness and finish in this ‘supernatural’ heirloom varietal from Guji, Ethiopia.
Coffee beans are judged on a 100-point scoring system that assesses body, balance, uniformity, sweetness, clarity and acidity. Coffee scoring 80+ points is considered specialty coffee.
