‘This coffee is a combined lot from four different producers in the Tiamana region of Huila, Colombia. Regional lots such as these allow smaller producers to sell their coffees to specialty markets, whilst also allowing us to taste an expression of a region as a whole. The cherries are picked at an average of every 21 days, when the Castillo cherries are purple and the F6 cherries are bright red.
This mixed, washed lot from Colombia is characterised by notes of orange and milk chocolate, with a panela-like sweetness on the finish.
Coffee beans are judged on a 100-point scoring system that assesses body, balance, uniformity, sweetness, clarity and acidity. Coffee scoring 80+ points is considered specialty coffee.
