This blend of lots from Uraga, Ethiopia has been selected by our Head Roaster, Danny Wilson. Nestled between Shakiso and Hambela, Uraga has increasingly gained a reputation for some of the most distinct coffees of Ethiopia. The area is made up of twenty different administrative areas (woredas), with varying micro-climates and different altitudes. Danny first fell in love with these coffees while preparing for his WCIGS routine in 2018, and was blown away by the strong, fruity aromatics and depth of flavour. From then, he has always had a fondness for the styling of coffees of this area. Although the coffees in this blend may have very different processing techniques, they all share that easily recognisable regional characteristics of pronounced aromatics and rich depth of flavour that Danny was first impressed by.
This hand selected filter blend is characterised by sweet, funky and tropical notes. Blackberry and tropical sweetness will hit you up front, but then will transition into qualities of jackfruit and papaya as it cools.
