‘Producer Dionel Chilito grows Geisha, Caturra and Colombia varietals in his 18 hectare farm in the municipality of Pitalito, in the department of Huila. The farm is made up of clay loam and volcanic soil, which provides much needed nutrients to the plants and the coffee cherries.
Lime citrus and pear sweetness dominate this washed geisha coffee, which finishes with a green tea-like quality.
Coffee beans are judged on a 100-point scoring system that assesses body, balance, uniformity, sweetness, clarity and acidity. Coffee scoring 80+ points is considered specialty coffee.
