Blanca Cañar Escobar grew up in coffee plantations, travelling with her father to work and play among coffee trees when she was a young girl. She began her own farm, El Potrero with her husband by cultivating the Caturra varietal – however, their crops were heavily damaged by ‘la roya’, or leaf rust, which then forced them to experiment with disease-resistant varietals such as Colombia. Since then, Blanca has begun working with other varietals such as Maragogype, Geisha, Red Bourbon and Yellow Bourbon to diversify her production and as a counter-measure against disease. This mixed lot is a selection of three varietals, all of which have been processed using traditional washing methods.
Prepared as a filter coffee, this mixed varietal lot has notes of peach, caramel, mandarin and milk chocolate sweetness
