The ‘orange bourbon’ variety is characterised by the dark orange colour of the coffee cherries and a unique flavour profile. Grown by Octavio Ramirez in the municipality of Palestina, the cherries are harvested between October and December before being pulped, dry fermented and washed multiple times.
Notes of orange sherbert and apricot dominate this orange bourbon varietal, which finishes with a earl grey and bergamot quality.
Coffee beans are judged on a 100-point scoring system that assesses body, balance, uniformity, sweetness, clarity and acidity. Coffee scoring 80+ points is considered specialty coffee.
