Every part of Ethiopia has its own mystique, and the western region of Keffa is no exception. The word “coffee” actually derives from the Keffa region in the south-western highlands of Ethiopia. This is the third year that we have bought a lot from Wush Wush. We love the coffee from this area for its distinct floral qualities and lively acidity – this makes it an easy spot on the cupping table! This 2020 lot is washed, pulped and fermented in concrete tanks for sixteen hours. The beans are then rinsed in washing channels before being shade dried on African beds. It’s a beautifully clean, sparkling and complex washed Ethiopian expression which screams florality throughout.

This washed heirloom lot is characterised by citrus qualities and bergamot. As it cools, look for notes of chamomile florals, grape and a hint of honey!
