Hugh was coached by the current Australian & World Barista Champion (& ONA Coffee’s director) Sasa Sestic. After months of tireless preparation & training, Hugh’s presentation focussed on varietals & the importance of the overall coffee experience, a winning combination.

Using a freezer processed Castillo from El Mirador in Colombia for his Espresso, which will be available for sale via this website, later this month.

ONA Coffee also had two other finalists at the Australian Barista Competition, Head Barista from ONA’s The Cupping Room, Yanina Ferreyra Domecq in fifth place & ONA Roaster, Daniel Wilson in sixth place.

Hugh is now preparing for the World Barista Competition, representing Australia, in Dublin Ireland in June 2016.  We wish, Hugh, Sasa, Yanina, Daniel & the team, all the best.
